Weekly Photo Challenge: Liquid

For this “Weekly Photo Challenge” i went for the thing that popped into my head first after reading “Liquid”…..It’s got to be coffee! 😎

Sarah & i love coffee and we love trying the different tastes especially whilst on holiday! 😎

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unlikely

Sarah Olypic start line

For this weeks Photo Challenge Unlikely…..I was going to post about how unlikely it was for me to still take photos now that i’m blind…..But i thought i’d post one of my lovely Wife Sarah! 😀

This trip was such an Unlikely blessing, as Sarah had another “Charcot Foot” and was in an air-cast for the last 5 months…..She had it removed a few weeks ago and she’s been strengthening her leg for this cruise. I love this photo of Sarah on the original ancient start line in Olympia, it was so unlikely to happen!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Lines

As a “Blind Photographer” my sight is really blurry but i can just about frame a shot by the lines. I don’t often know what the lines of the objects are, lol. But it’s how i can get some good images now and then! 😀

A black and white photo of my Taylor Koa K22 with lots of textured shadows

As i could get my hands on this guitar….I knew exactly what the lines were! lol.

I thought this weeks Photo Challenge was an ideal opportunity to post a photo of my Taylor K22ce acoustic guitar, which is made from the exotic tropical wood Hawaiian Koa. I just love the lines of this beautiful wood and never get bored looking at them.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Favorite Place

The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is Favorite Place. I think it’s easy to say that the Caribbean Islands are our fave place to visit that are a long way from home. I love to see my lovely Wife Sarah relaxing, as she works so hard in super busy London and it’s great to go away and be recharged! 😀 🌴☀️

Weekly Photo Challenge: Experimental

For this weeks photo challenge “Experimental”, i thought i’d go back a year and a half when Sarah & i were being “Experimental” with the iPhone Panorama mode. I thought i’d try and look calm in the start of the shot….Then run around the back of Sarah to wave in the end of the shot! I managed it eventually, lol. 😎

on the left i'm leaning on a fence overlooking a large pond while on the right i'm waving with both arms in the air and smiling at the camera!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Temporary

The Ancient Olympic Games Original Stone Start Line.

This trip has been such an unexpected blessing, as Sarah had another “Charcot Foot” and was in an air-cast for the last 5 months…..She removed the air-cast a few weeks ago and she’s been strengthening her leg for this cruise.

I chose this photo for this weeks photo challenge: “Temporary” as it was a temporary moment in our lives(thankfully as it was so hot) and a special memory as we didn’t think we’d ever make it as Sarah’s foot was so bad. So seeing Sarah on the start line at the ancient Olympics was fantastic! 😎

More Photo Challenges

Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

A photo of 2 side profile head shots of Geese with the one at the back in focus and the one if front out of focus.

As ii’m registered blind, this weeks photo challenge “Focus” is very interesting as i don’t have any focus and need to use the camera’s autofocus!

I chose this photo as the lens was going crazy trying to focus on each of the birds, so in the end i pressed the shutter and got this shot! 🤣

Weekly Photo Challenge: Friend

Bruce looking into Sarah's eyes!

Friend” is this weeks photo challenge…..So i thought i’d share a photo of my best friend and lovely Wife Sarah…..And our(The Late) best friend Bruce THE Boxer. I love this photo of the look of complete adoration in Bruce’s eyes for Sarah! 😊

Weekly Photo Challenge: Evanescent

Wow, another “Photo Challenge” where i could post thousands of photos! 🤣

Here’s a few “Evanescent” moments of my(& Sarah’s) travels.

St Kitts Church

On a severely rocky train journey through “St Kitts”, i managed somehow to take this photo of one of my fave church buildings! ~ Read about our fantastic journey here!

In Flight

Now a little about this bird…..🤣 Taken from my older post “In Flight”

“This photo brings back memories of patience for me. This is the longest i’d taken getting one shot. I spent 3 days going down to the local lake and sat patiently on a bench taking about 150 shots per day until finally got this one. I learnt that when you can’t see what’s in your viewfinder, don’t take photos of birds! lol” 😀

Sarah London Landscape

Sarah had just a few seconds to take this photo whilst doing a 2 day course at the “Institute of Legacy Management” building. She wanted to show me a cityscape of London as she wouldn’t get this chance again! 🙂

And of course i can’t do many photo challenges without a photo(or photos) of “Bruce THE Boxer”. Our lovely Boxer dog which we still miss loads! But i felt this period in time(14th July 2000 – 3rd Dec 2011) felt like it only lasted a short time and would suit this challenge. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Heritage

Sarah i playing at church

This weeks “Photo Challenge” left me with so many options i didn’t know where to start!

The photo above is one of Sarah & i’s favourites and is on our side-board. I thought…..”Heritage” – It has the church building which was built way before our time. “Heritage” – The guitar i’m playing(and not worthy of holding, never mind owning) was built by a fantastic Luthier. “Heritage” – And more important than all of this is the Holy Covenant of Marriage that glues Sarah and i together in the power of His promises!

I could go on & on…..But i’ll stop here and go and check out your posts on the challenge! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflecting

A photo of Sarah doing the same pose in front of The Vitruvian Man

For this weeks challenge(Reflectiong), i used an old photo from our “Tuscany Tour”(please click to begin this fantastic trip), although it’s not really about reflecting……I think Sarah’s smile reflects enough of how much fun we were having on this holiday! 😀

Weekly Photo Challenge: Danger!

A photo from on the horse looking forwards with its head in view overlooking the stunning sea and beach at St James Beach, Antigua

Sorry for being away for so long…..i’ve missed you guys!

For this weeks “Photo Challenge“, i thought i’d look back on our horse ride across the beautiful beach of St John’s Antigua. As both Sarah * i are registered Blind this was a nerve-racking trip for us. It was a brave, DANGER filled trip but we stepped up to the challenge and had one of the best days of our lives! 🤣

Face…is this weeks photo challenge, so i thought i’d do a little tribute to “Bruce” who died 4½ years ago. He managed to show many expressions throughout the years! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Admiration

Me(on the right) playing guitar with my brother in law(on the left)

On a recent visit from Sarah’s Dad & two brothers, i was filled with Admiration as i played guitar along with my brother in law Alfie. I remember when he was first learning and now he’s sic! 🙂

More Weekly Photo Challenges!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dance

Sarah(on the right) in the water dancing with a Dolphin on her left

For this weeks Photo Challenge Theme: Dance…I couldn’t resist posting this lovely photo of Sarah dancing with a dolphin on our holiday to the Caribbean last year.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Vivid

Ella smiling with a bunch of flower, stood next to a vividly coloured bush with lots of flowers For this weeks photo challenge “Vivid“, i decided to use a photo of lovely Ella(my friend Rob’s daughter) with Vivid flowers.

Also i thought the Vivid hairs around “Bruce THE Boxer’s” mouth would be a great contribution too! 🙂

My other “Weekly Photo Challenges

Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

Pisa Tower

A zoomed in photo of the top 3 layers of the tower

FOR This weeks photo challenge “BROKEN”, i just had to post a few photos from my “Tuscany Tour” holiday.

known worldwide for its unintended tilt to one side. It is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa’s Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the Cathedral and the Baptistry. The tower’s tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure’s weight.

Sarah In The Background

Sarah “Enveloped” by flowers, for this weeks photo challenge. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Blur

Vini and the sword

Once i found out this week’s photo challenge was “Blur”, i was going to try and create an image that would replicate my severely blurry sight.

But as i was updating my iMac software and finding out the new features in the “Photos” app, i found this image. It’s of me being taken out with some blisteringly blurry swordsmanship by Vini, using the newly created balloon swords that he had just made from a Christmas cracker & balloon making kit set. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

Adoration

The “Ephemeral” joy of pure adoration! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

Hampton Court 127

As Sarah & i were walking around Hampton Court Palace gardens, i stopped to take this photo of what i call “The pathway to paradise”. I could feel the warmth of spring while the “Fresh” scent of the flowers ensconced us. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale

Me in front of the Florence Cathedral

“Wow! Were these doors made for the Nephilim?!!” 🙂

I just had to choose this photo from my recent “Tuscany Tour” for this weeks “Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale”. These were the biggest and best doors i’ve ever seen, so i just had to have my photo taken in front of them so you could appreciate the ‘scale’ of them!! 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Achievement

Here are 6 recent “Achievements” from Sarah & i for this weeks 📷 challenge.

#1 RNIB’s Outlook magazine cover photo

My photo being used on the Outlook CD Magazine

⇧ The CD version of Outlook Magazine with my cover photo ⇧

I’ve had another photo published as a cover photo on RNIB’s Outlook 29 magazine. I havn’t seen the print, large print or Braille covers, but i have the audio version.

#2 Norfolk Hideaways Photography Competition

4 people sat on the beach wall with a beautiful sunset around them

⇧ Sunset 4 the people ⇧

Norfolk Hideaways had a photo competition for their calendar and brochure for 2015. This is the first time i’ve ever entered my photos in a competition. They replied saying the wanted to use my photo (see “Sunset 4 the people” above) for either the front cover of their brochure and calendar! Unfortunatley i didn’t have a high enough quality image (as it was cropped from my iPhone) to use as a cover shot, but they will publish it on their website, leaflets & inside the brochure. That’s still amazing to me, as i was up against fully sighted photographers, so even to consider one of my photos is unbelievible to me!! 🙂

#3 My Florence, Italy Photographic Exhibition.

Exhibition Countdown from my blogs sidebar

⇧ Screenshot taken from Rebus photography’s sidebar ⇧

Now this still blows me away…My photography exhibition in Florence, Italy. We fly out in less than 2 weeks for the opening (my first time abroad!) and to say i’m excited is an understatement! I still can’t believe that they chose little old me to exhibit in their museum! I’ll keep you updated and take lots of photos on my travels! 🙂

 #4 IOF Certificate in Fundraising

Sarah Graduation 1

⇧ Sarah receiving her hard earned Certificate! 🙂 ⇧

So proud of my lovely wife Sarah on her graduation! Despite major difficulties following her latest eye operation, she managed to earn a “distinction“.

The graduation ceremony took place from 6-9pm on Thursday 6th November at Brunei Gallery, SOAS, London, celebrating the excellence of the class of 2013/14 from the IOF Academy.

#5 The cheese burger Birthday cake for Sally

Sarah’s been baking again!! I love her creations! 🙂

#6 The 3D Christmas tree

Sarah also made a fantastic Christmas tree cake, i hope she shares it! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Minimalist

a liquid level indicator attached to the side of a blue cup filled up with tea

I really struggled with this weeks Photo Challenge, so i thought i’d use a minimalist photo of this little gadget that completely transformed my life shortly after losing my sight. I couldn’t even make myself a warm drink without burning myself several times! So instead i just drank Vodka as it was much easier, but this really didn’t help my dark depression (see my testimony).

Then my social worker brought me round this liquid level indicator, and it changed everything! I could finally make myself a cup of tea, and was quickly making anyone who came round drinks again, what a feeling! 🙂

Description of a liquid level indicator taken from RNIB online store

Fill your cup with greater confidence, using RNIB’s audible and vibratory Liquid Level Indicator. Simply place it on the side of a cup and a series of audible beeps and vibrations will let you know when the liquid nears the top.

The Liquid Level Indicator will give off an intermittent beep and a series of vibrations when your cup is nearly full, followed by a faster beep and continuous vibration when it has reached its limit. There are also magnets built in, to allow easy storage on your fridge door.

Travel theme: Bountiful

Grapes

This weekend Sarah & i didn’t have to travel far (in our back garden) before we were amazed to find a Bountiful 32 little bunches of grapes on our vine. I managed to take a quick photo above before Sarah picked them! 🙂

Are you ready to get bountiful, abundant, ample, plentiful and rich? If you would like to join in this week’s travel theme challenge with your own interpretation (everyone’s welcome!) Click Here

Weekly Photo Challenge: Signs

Pedestrians Sign

The Challenge “This week, publish an image of a sign — from the signs you encounter on the street to more personal, less obvious signs that hold meaning for you.”

On a walk in London, alongside the river Thames, Sarah & i stumbled across a surprising Sign inviting us to “Walk on the water”.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nighttime

What nocturnal photos do you like taking? Whether it’s a starry sky, a street lamp, or the shadows cast by your cat, share them with us.

I didn’t think i had many to show for this challenge, but i had lots! Here are a few of my fave Nighttime shots! 🙂
