Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

A photo of 2 side profile head shots of Geese with the one at the back in focus and the one if front out of focus.

As ii’m registered blind, this weeks photo challenge “Focus” is very interesting as i don’t have any focus and need to use the camera’s autofocus!

I chose this photo as the lens was going crazy trying to focus on each of the birds, so in the end i pressed the shutter and got this shot! 🤣

Face…is this weeks photo challenge, so i thought i’d do a little tribute to “Bruce” who died 4½ years ago. He managed to show many expressions throughout the years! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Admiration

Me(on the right) playing guitar with my brother in law(on the left)

On a recent visit from Sarah’s Dad & two brothers, i was filled with Admiration as i played guitar along with my brother in law Alfie. I remember when he was first learning and now he’s sic! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Vivid

Ella smiling with a bunch of flower, stood next to a vividly coloured bush with lots of flowers For this weeks photo challenge “Vivid“, i decided to use a photo of lovely Ella(my friend Rob’s daughter) with Vivid flowers.

Also i thought the Vivid hairs around “Bruce THE Boxer’s” mouth would be a great contribution too! 🙂

My other “Weekly Photo Challenges

Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

Pisa Tower

A zoomed in photo of the top 3 layers of the tower

FOR This weeks photo challenge “BROKEN”, i just had to post a few photos from my “Tuscany Tour” holiday.

known worldwide for its unintended tilt to one side. It is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa’s Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the Cathedral and the Baptistry. The tower’s tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure’s weight.

Sarah In The Background

Sarah “Enveloped” by flowers, for this weeks photo challenge. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Blur

Vini and the sword

Once i found out this week’s photo challenge was “Blur”, i was going to try and create an image that would replicate my severely blurry sight.

But as i was updating my iMac software and finding out the new features in the “Photos” app, i found this image. It’s of me being taken out with some blisteringly blurry swordsmanship by Vini, using the newly created balloon swords that he had just made from a Christmas cracker & balloon making kit set. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

Adoration

The “Ephemeral” joy of pure adoration! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

Hampton Court 127

As Sarah & i were walking around Hampton Court Palace gardens, i stopped to take this photo of what i call “The pathway to paradise”. I could feel the warmth of spring while the “Fresh” scent of the flowers ensconced us. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Achievement

Here are 6 recent “Achievements” from Sarah & i for this weeks 📷 challenge.

#1 RNIB’s Outlook magazine cover photo

My photo being used on the Outlook CD Magazine

⇧ The CD version of Outlook Magazine with my cover photo ⇧

I’ve had another photo published as a cover photo on RNIB’s Outlook 29 magazine. I havn’t seen the print, large print or Braille covers, but i have the audio version.

#2 Norfolk Hideaways Photography Competition

4 people sat on the beach wall with a beautiful sunset around them

⇧ Sunset 4 the people ⇧

Norfolk Hideaways had a photo competition for their calendar and brochure for 2015. This is the first time i’ve ever entered my photos in a competition. They replied saying the wanted to use my photo (see “Sunset 4 the people” above) for either the front cover of their brochure and calendar! Unfortunatley i didn’t have a high enough quality image (as it was cropped from my iPhone) to use as a cover shot, but they will publish it on their website, leaflets & inside the brochure. That’s still amazing to me, as i was up against fully sighted photographers, so even to consider one of my photos is unbelievible to me!! 🙂

#3 My Florence, Italy Photographic Exhibition.

Exhibition Countdown from my blogs sidebar

⇧ Screenshot taken from Rebus photography’s sidebar ⇧

Now this still blows me away…My photography exhibition in Florence, Italy. We fly out in less than 2 weeks for the opening (my first time abroad!) and to say i’m excited is an understatement! I still can’t believe that they chose little old me to exhibit in their museum! I’ll keep you updated and take lots of photos on my travels! 🙂

 #4 IOF Certificate in Fundraising

Sarah Graduation 1

⇧ Sarah receiving her hard earned Certificate! 🙂 ⇧

So proud of my lovely wife Sarah on her graduation! Despite major difficulties following her latest eye operation, she managed to earn a “distinction“.

The graduation ceremony took place from 6-9pm on Thursday 6th November at Brunei Gallery, SOAS, London, celebrating the excellence of the class of 2013/14 from the IOF Academy.

#5 The cheese burger Birthday cake for Sally

#6 The 3D Christmas tree

⇧ The Christmas tree cake 1st attempt by Sarah, fantastic!! 🙂 ⇧

Sarah also made a fantastic Christmas tree cake, i hope she shares it! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Minimalist

a liquid level indicator attached to the side of a blue cup filled up with tea

I really struggled with this weeks Photo Challenge, so i thought i’d use a minimalist photo of this little gadget that completely transformed my life shortly after losing my sight. I couldn’t even make myself a warm drink without burning myself several times! So instead i just drank Vodka as it was much easier, but this really didn’t help my dark depression (see my testimony).

Then my social worker brought me round this liquid level indicator, and it changed everything! I could finally make myself a cup of tea, and was quickly making anyone who came round drinks again, what a feeling! 🙂

Description of a liquid level indicator taken from RNIB online store

Fill your cup with greater confidence, using RNIB’s audible and vibratory Liquid Level Indicator. Simply place it on the side of a cup and a series of audible beeps and vibrations will let you know when the liquid nears the top.

The Liquid Level Indicator will give off an intermittent beep and a series of vibrations when your cup is nearly full, followed by a faster beep and continuous vibration when it has reached its limit. There are also magnets built in, to allow easy storage on your fridge door.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Signs

Pedestrians Sign

The Challenge “This week, publish an image of a sign — from the signs you encounter on the street to more personal, less obvious signs that hold meaning for you.”

On a walk in London, alongside the river Thames, Sarah & i stumbled across a surprising Sign inviting us to “Walk on the water”.
